Jackson,

It is amazing to me how much joy you add to our lives and all those you come in contact with. Just the simplest things you do like laughing, exploring a new toy, or trying to figure out yourself in the mirror adds more to my life than you could ever know. On days like today, I think you are the only thing that could make me smile. Since this is a blog that tracks your life it would only be right to talk about the hard times as well. Today we lost your (Pap-pa) Great Grandpa Goss. This is your Daddy's Grandfather. He is with Jesus now and we know he will smile down on you forever. We are happy he is not hurting anymore and in the best place beyond our comprehension, but it is so hard to let go. One day when you get bigger we will have so many stories to tell you. We promised him that we would teach you all about those good malts he would make Daddy every Saturday night growing up. We named you after him because we can only hope that you will someday be like him. Pap-Pa was a leader, encourager, provider, and friend. He fought for what he believed in, and most importantly he would do anything for his family. I only can hope and pray that you will grow up just like him. Thanks for making me and so many others smile today. God always knows what we need and on days like today, and you are a great testament to that.

Love, Mommy

Re: Keeping us Smiling

Thanks all for your comments and prayers.

Thanks Mommy for your beautiful entry. Those words and descriptions are perfect. Thanks for your wonderful support at this time.

Jackson - We will miss pap-pa, but I am so grateful that you got to meet him. Every time you saw him you laughed and cooed. I love seeing these pics of you two together and I will never forget those times. I can't wait until I can tell you all the wonderful stories about him. Thanks for being a sweet boy and putting a smile on our faces.

Pap-pa is finally free of all that pain and suffering, and while we grieve because of our selfish human nature, we celebrate the wonderful man that he was and the new life he has just begun.

We are so sorry for your loss, but from the pics it looks like Jackson had already made quite a connection with his Great Grandpa. He'll be able to remember him through your stories. We are here for you if you need anything!
